If you love travel photography, this is the class for you! Learn to take better photographs while visiting iconic, and metro accessible, locations in Washington, DC. Get real time advice on camera controls (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation), photographic compositions (simplicity & balance) and natural lighting conditions which will consistently lead to better photographs. Sessions will meet throughout DC to photograph architecture, sculpture, gardens, events, people and more.

We tend to visit (subject to change based on weather and city events): US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, East end of the Mall, Downtown and other locations.

All cameras are welcome: DSLR, mirrorless, film and iPhone/Android.

We'll meet online for January 24 (to discuss camera controls and the topics I want to stress in the class), February 21 or 28 (for a photo review) and March 21 (for a photo review). We'll meet in the field for the other sessions. MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS.

Images submitted for the photo review must be straight out of the camera/phone, with absolutely no post-production- including cropping. This will allow me to give accurate feedback. If you shoot in RAW, please convert to JPG. Get a Dropbox.com account, upload your photos, then "share" them with me so we can view them in class.

Please enroll by the Wednesday (1/20) prior to the start of class to receive the appropriate contact information and meeting location.

Students provide their own transportation. If the class does not meet minimum enrollment, your class fee will be refunded. Class sessions will be rescheduled if there's inclement weather. Bring your camera, charged battery and lenses. There's no need to bring a tripod.
